Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies are the most requested cookie in my house. There is something about a chewy chocolate chip cookie with slightly crisp edges and gooey chocolate chips, gulped down with a cold glass of whole milk. I have made many cookie recipes and this one turned out to be my family’s favorite, I hope it can be yours too! It is a small recipe and makes 6 cookies but can easily be doubled or tripled! I try not to have 24 cookies sitting around my house so I enjoy a small, quick cookie recipe. This recipe can also be altered for a regular sugar cookie recipe- swap out brown sugar for sugar and remove chocolate chips. You can also ad a splash of almond extract along with the vanilla.
Kitchen Gadgets Needed:
1 Cookie Sheet
Parchment Paper
Medium Mixing Bowls
Whisk
Rubber Spatula

Place egg yolk, sugars, melted butter, and vanilla into a mixing bowl and whisk until combined- about 30 seconds
In a seperate small bowl whisk flour, salt, baking soda until combined
Pour flour into the sugar and butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until combined- dough will be smooth and look greasy
Pour in your chocolate chips and stir to combine
Roll dough into 6 balls -roughly 2 tablespoons in size, and place them onto your cookie sheet roughly 2-3 inches apart
Bake on the center rack for 11-12 minutes until the edges start to turn golden brown
Take out of the oven and let them sit on the cookie sheet for 5-10 minutes until you move them-or eat them :)
