Homemade Strawberry Jam Recipe
Strawberries are my absolute favorite berry, and they are even better when they are in-season and fresh picked! When they are in season I make sure to grab a few pounds and make this fresh strawberry jam. This is a Pectin Free recipe so the consistency is just a bit looser than store-bought but the flavor is still delicious! I use it on fresh biscuits, ice cream, toast, or just eat it out of the jar! You can make a big batch of it and freeze it or place it in mason jars and can it to make it shelf stable. Either way I hope you enjoy it and it brings you joy as it does for me and my family!
Ingredients:
2 Cups Chopped Strawberries
1/4 Cup Sugar
Splash of Lemon Juice- optional
Directions:
Add chopped strawberries and sugar to a small pot *add optional lemon juice
Set stove to Med-Low and allow it to simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally
When the strawberries release their moisture make sure to mash the mixture until there is only small pieces of strawberry. You can blend it with an immersion blender if you’d like
Allow this to simmer for another 10-15 minutes or until the mixture gets thick and can coat a spoon *the mixture will continue to thicken as it cools
Pour into desired jar and allow to cool before serving
